FAQ
WHAT IS EYEBROW MICROBLADING?
Microblading fills in areas of your natural brow, which is done by using a very fine blade to deposit pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The result is a natural, real life looking hair stroke.
WHAT IS MICROSHADING?
Microshading, also known as ombre and eyebrow embroidery, is a perfect eyebrows treatment choice for people with sensitive skin. This technique is similar to microblading, but it gives eyebrows fuller and softer effect. Think powder filled look instead of individual hair strokes.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MICROBLADING?
You can check out requirements here or take a look at a questionnaire here. We'll talk about the questionnaire when you contact me!
DOES IT FADE?
Microblading tends to fade gradually over time, so a touch up is recommended 12-18 months after the initial microblading which keeps the color looking amazing.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The results of microblading last about 2 years, depending on numerous things such as sun exposure and skin type. For example, someone with oilier skin tends to experience results that fade quicker compared to someone with drier skin.
HOW LONG DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE?
The average microblading appointment lasts two hours. Consultation, framing of the brows, numbing and procedure.
DOES IT HURT?
You will be numbed before the procedure, and after the first pass with a secondary numbing. most clients say they experience no discomfort during microblading. Any pain that was experienced has been compared to the feeling of a light scratch with minimal discomfort.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 30% as it heals. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the final outcome.
IS THE TOUCH UP SESSION NECESSARY?
Microblading is a two part process. A touch up or “perfecting” appointment after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and the outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. This is when we can add more hair strokes, go bolder or darken the pigment. For example individuals with oily skin often require a darker pigment color during the touch up session as the oils can lighten the pigment.
